Kiyinda Mityana Diocesan Chancellor Rev Fr Tamale Emanuel has urged Christians to love and stay rooted in their faith and avoid being taken up by mushrooming cults and faiths in the world today.
Rev Fr Tamale encouraged all Christians not to get weary in doing good especially in God’s work and asked them to evaluate their human activities and the effects they have caused to their neighbors urging them to change the attitude for the betterment of all.
This was while commissioning the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the new St James Katente Catholic Parish Church in Mubende Deanery, Kiyuni Sub County in Mubende district Kiyinda Mityana Catholic Diocese.
The new church is estimated to accommodate 1500 faithful and valued at Ug Shs 2 Billion, expected for completion in two years.
“Parents take care of your children and desist from silly talk that children belong to the government and also political mobilize and plan for the children because it matters a lot for the future of our families, homes, communities and country at large the tendency of deserting children must stop” Fr Tamale said
Rev Fr Dr Sselwaniko Henry Nganda, the parish Priest Katente Parish called upon the parishioners to divot their ability to this calls of God in the construction of the new church and argued them to contribute tirelessly.
Buwekula County MP Rtd Maj Joseph Kakooza appreciated the efforts by the Catholic Church and religious leaders in transforming society, by way of creating awareness on different development government programmes.
A total of over 30 million shillings was collected and among the dignitaries present was the Dean Rev Fr Dr Emmanuel Mwerekande, the district governor Francis Kibuuka Amooti, Mubende district speaker Hon Museveni Williams Ndooli among others.
